Georgia Power Foundation to Provide Funding for Districts to expand use of Web tools in Governance
Grants will provide eBOARD site review service and customized training with district leadership
June 1, 2010 – Atlanta – eBOARDsolutions, developer of eBOARD, will provide extensive eBOARD site reviews and customized training to four districts in Georgia through a grant provided by the support of the Georgia Power Foundation.
The four grant recipient winners are:
- Barrow County Schools
- City of Decatur Schools
- Jeff Davis Schools
- Richmond County Schools
Each of the winning districts submitted a grant application to the Georgia School Boards Association (parent of EBS) to whom the grant funding was donated. Each submission required the completion of a self-assessment instrument concerning the current use of eBOARD as well as an online cost savings analysis showing where further savings could be made if the software was used more effectively and more widespread throughout the district.
Bill Rainwater, Manager of Community and Economic Development Support for Georgia Power, states, “In these tough economic times, school districts are looking at ways technology can help them to do their work more efficiently while modeling best practices in governance and leadership. We are proud to provide the winning districts in Georgia with the funding to acquire the skills and direction needed to take advantage of these forward thinking and cost efficient technology tools.”
