eBoard makes decision-making more effective by proving easy access to the rationale and the supporting documents. Board members can take their time in reviewing the documentation and get their questions answered about items in a timely manner. Instead of Board members having to travel to the Board office to pick up their board packets or my having to deliver them to all parts of the county, I can provide the members with the information with a click of a button and they all have the same information at the same time. How efficient!

I appreciate the search function of eBoard. If I need to know exactly what action the Board took on an item even if it was several months ago, I can easily pull it up. It also creates for me a history of action on a particular item. Recently, we were ready to issue bonds. I searched for the bond board items from two years ago and had a handy guide for how to proceed again. This feature would be extremely helpful for new superintendents.

Board members receive Board agenda information a lot sooner with eBOARD than in the past. We used to get agenda and supporting materials a few days before the monthly Board meeting. Now we may access the agenda even weeks before, which gives us more time to prepare. I really like that we can make notes on the agenda itself, so that we can ask all of our questions. The notes are on the same page of the agenda, which is very convenient. It is very user friendly.

Certainly the ability to have a paperless board meeting is one of the most widely noted uses of eBOARD, but as a system, it is much more than that. The ease of viewing a published meeting and all supporting documentation that goes along with daily decision-making has been very effective. In addition, eBOARD has helped streamline the development and subsequent adoption of policies and procedures for our district, a process that previously was very cumbersome. We have been able to incorporate the meetings function into other aspects of our work, such as cabinet and departmental meetings.
